Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia (or fibromyalgia syndrome FMS) is a long-term condition that causes pain all over the body. In addition to the pain, people with fibromyalgia may also have extreme tiredness, muscle stiffness, difficulty sleeping, problems with mental processes (known as ‘fibro-fog’) such as memory issues and concentration headaches, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

There is currently no cure for fibromyalgia, there are treatments which help to relieve some of the symptoms which make the condition easier to live with.

Due to the muscle stiffness and body pain, some people with fibromyalgia use a wheelchair to ease their muscles and joints which can make shopping for clothes a little tricky. At Able2 Wear, we have developed a range of wheelchair trousers (including our popular drop front wheelchair trousers which are now available as wheelchair shorts) which are higher at the back and are designed for people who spend most or a lot of the time sitting, wheelchair fleeces, and wheelchair waterproofs, as well as a collection of useful accessories.
